I have the hitchens book, The Trials Of Henry Kissenger.

I really love his style, especially his stance on religion. Check out his YouTube clips under hitchslap.

Mr. Hitchens and I actually have opposing views on religion. Luckily, I was able to see him and Dinesh D'Souza duke it out a few years ago in a debate. I have fond memories of he and his brother Peter, playing some one on one with elbows included, on C-SPAN's Morning Journal in the '90's. Christopher would show up, rumpled and red eyed while Peter had a proper night's rest and his tie on straight. And they would go at it. Delicious fun. I am glad he and Peter have reconciled after many years. I pray and hope for a lessening of his suffering.

yes I have been praying for him to recover from throat cancer.

I really like his stance on keeping religion out of politics. He is a brilliant orator, and I had found myself listening to just about every thing on youtube.

the highlights;
when he eviserates a rabbi for laughing at circumcision.
his comments on hannity and colmes about jerry fallwell.
he has a special disdain for the religion of islam, and its not exactly peaceful origins.

And he loves Mother Teresa. Maybe a bit too much? ;-)

Have you recognized a bit of schadenfreude among some Christians? (see below) Like, now he will accept Christ. We got 'em. We Christians are really fucked up in the West when it comes to The Great Commission. Either you never bring up Jesus, even though your spiritual life may be a huge part of who you are, b/c you are afraid of ridicule. The ostrich way.
Or you are picketing soldiers funerals, claiming they died b/c the US 'loves homosexuals', or predict a date for a fairy tale (The Rapture). That would be the, 'I need money and attention way'.
I don't hide who I am, but I hope I don't impose my faith on others. Unless they ask me. And that happens from time to time.
The opening of one's heart to Christ mostly comes with the soft sound of sandaled feet, in quiet. Not in the arena.

I love this magazine, but I had some trouble with the last two paragraphs.
